Honor Elders' Day
Septmeber 26, 2010

Consistent with the Chinese traditions, Venerable Master Husan Hua had formally established an annual celebration to honor the Elders. Avatamsaka Vihara, a Dharma Realm Buddhist Associations (DRBA) branch at Potomac Maryland, will take the opportunity to organize a Festival in this honor on Sunday, September 26, 2010. We cordially invite all elders of the greater Washington area to attend and share with us a day full of fun activities and entertainment.

The festival of honoring the elders promptly begins at 8:30AM. The Dharma Masters open the celebration with a special blessing and prayer service centered on the theme of longevities, fortune and wisdom. Following the service, the entertainment program immediate unfolds, guests and elders will be able to enjoy a variety of performances and with this lively agenda, we hope to mark your weekend a pleasant and eventful one.

Along with the outstanding performances, Avatamsaka Vihara has also specially crafted a scrumptious vegetarian menu for guests to enjoy and more importantly, we hope to promote vegetarian cooking and quality living in modern America.

After lunch, entries for the long lived and most eligible elder will be revealed and each guest elder will receive a souvenir in recognition for their participation. We hereby would like to request for your presence and look forward to spending the day with you and your parents.

The event is free of charge, we would like to receive your RSVP via telephone or email to ensure an adequate count and smooth operation of the event.
